Regional Officers

Joan Meechee BSN,RN- President

Currently working in OR at Chilton. Joan was the charge nurse in the ambulatory/In-house Endoscopy Dept. at St. Joseph's Hospital Medical center in Paterson, N.J. She was mentored by Founding member of the SGNA Society Doris Barnie. Her friendship, guidance, mentoring and love inspired her to become the nurse that she is today. She has great respect and love for the study and progression of Gastroenterology. It it an honor to serve as President of NNJ SGNA for this year of 2019.

Ivonne Carvajal BSN,RN,CGRN- President Elect

Ivonne has been a Registered Nurse at Morristown Medical Center since 1995. She started working on the Progressive Cardiac Unit then in 2000 began her career in Endoscopy at the Digestive Center. She now remains full-time in their Ambulatory Endoscopy Center. During her years of service, she has been involved in her department's QI and Performance Improvement audits in the area of Infection Control- High Level Disinfection and AAAHC inspections. She is a ANCC Magnet Champion and participates on her Department's Unit Based Shared Governance Committee. She maintains her CGRN and graduated from Rutgers College of Nursing in 1995. Ivonne is enthusiastic about being part of our NNJ SGNA Chapter.

Susan Overhoff BSN,RN,MSN,CGRN- Secretary

Susan has earned her Bachelor od Science degree and her Master of Science degree from St. Peter University in Jersey City, N.J. She has been a nurse for 30+ years and has extensive background in medical surgical, cardiovascular, pulmonary and gastroenterology, She is an active member of the Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates as well as holding a certification with ABCGN. She is proud to serve as secretary for NNJ SGNA Regional Chapter #36. This is her first position as officer in our chapter! In addition Susan has had a presentation at Nationals and will share her presentation at our upcoming Annual N.J. Fall conference 2019.

AnnMarie Allarey-Quimbo BSN RN CGRN - Treasurer

Has been a nurse for over 29 years. Graduated from York College of Pa. with a BSN. AnnMarie was one of the first participants in the Nurse Externship program introduced at Hackensack Univ.Med.Ctr. in Surgical ICU in 1988. She worked on the Dialysis/Diabetic unit at HUMC and in the MICU at St.Joseph's in Paterson and in HUMC. Worked in Endoscopy for 18 years and has been a SGNA member for 16 years.She has maintained her CGRN for 14 years. AnnMarie has been a chairperson at her Endo Department's Unit Base Council, BLS instructor for her department as well as a member of the Staff Advisory Council. She has been involved in several NNJ SGNA committees as well as served as NNJ SGNA President-Elect/President 2014/2015. AnnMarie is honored to serve as NNJ SGNA's Treasurer.

Roberta Wilgus BS,RNBC,CGRN - Immediate Past President

Graduated from Englewood Hospital School of Nursing in 1976 and Ramapo College (Formerly UMDNJ). Currently Rutgers with a BSN degree in 2003. Roberta received certification from AANC Medical-Surgical Nurses in 1998 and GI nursing CGRN since 2007. From 1997 to date, Roberta has been working at St. Joseph's Hospital Medical Center.
